Nalaine Morin is a nationally recognized professional who has managed environmental reviews of several large resource development projects on behalf of Indigenous Nations. She has extensive technical experience in both mining and environmental assessment processes, and she is well known for her work to build positive relationships that recognize the role of Indigenous Nations in decision making on Indigenous Lands. Nalaine provides services in third party technical reviews, regulatory application reviews, impact benefit agreement negotiations, community engagement and natural resource management.
Nalaine holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of British Columbia and a Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma from the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She currently resides in Smithers, British Columbia.
She has been recognized for her leadership as recipient of the 2021 Skookum Jim Award, 2018 Indigenous Trailblazer Award, and the 2018 Aura Award. Nalaine is also a board member of both BC Hydro and Geoscience BC.Nathan Monash has developed sustainability strategies and corporate governance structures for mining companies operating in North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Australia. He is the author of several publications on these topics and has worked for companies such as AngoGold Ashanti, the International Finance Corporation, Rio Tinto Alcan and the World Economic Forum. He currently leads the integration of sustainability processes into all areas of Lundin Gold, ensuring the long-term viability of both the business and the communities in which it operates.
He is currently President of the Board of of the Mining Chamber of Ecuador.
Calvin Helin, a member of the Tsimshian Nation, comes from the community of Lax Kw’alaams on the Northwest coast of British Columbia, Canada. The son of a hereditary chief, he is an entrepreneur, lawyer, and best-selling author.
From 2011 to 2021 Calvin served as Chair and President of Eagle Spirit Energy Holdings. Ltd. —a company focussed on building a First Nations-led multi-pipeline energy corridor across northern Alberta and British Columbia. In this role he consulted directly with First Nations, industry and government on economic development projects, advising the Premier of Alberta on structuring $1 billion dollar Alberta Aboriginal Opportunities Corporation (https://www.theaioc.com/). He is Chairman and President of Eagle Group of Companies Holdings, Ltd. He is former President of the Native Investment and Trade Association, held directorships on the Vancouver Board of Trade (where he chaired the newly formed Aboriginal Opportunities Committee), GeoScience BC, and the Canada–China Resource Development Foundation.
Calvin has written several publications on law, Aboriginal business, and associated issues, including Dances with Spirits: Ancient Wisdom for a Modern Worlds which was was released worldwide in May 2014 and has already won the Living Now Book Award silver medal in the area of social activism/charity. His new book Rise of Indigenous Nations: From Poverty to Power is expected to be released soon.
Calvin also serves as an ambassador for SOS Children’s Village B.C., a non-profit providing a safe foster care environment for the most vulnerable children, and is a member of the Advisory Council of the prestigious think tank, the MacDonald-Laurier Institute.

Aria Hahn holds a PhD in metagenomics and is the CEO and Co-Founder of Koonkie Canada, a bioinformatics service company focused on microbes, metagenomics and solving problems using DNA and Big Data. Koonkie is proud to have partnered with Teck Resources, the Digital Supercluster and the Mining Microbiome Analytics Platform (MMAP) consortium to tackle challenges in mining using microbes in a big way. She also serves as the technical lead for two large scale public projects, GutCyc.org, the world's largest collection of publicly available, searchable gut microbiome data, and EngCyc, an emerging project focused on comparing microbes around the world. Aria’s strengths are in her abilities to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, make data-driven decisions, provide evaluation criteria and create knowledge translation materials suitable for expert and lay audiences. Aria is passionate about data and believes that combined with intelligent statistical and computational technologies, data hold the answers to many burgeoning questions facing multiple industries today. Ani Markova is a Senior Executive and an award-winning portfolio manager with over 25 years of capital markets involvement with predominant focus on the global metals and mining sector and commodity markets. She has been engaged with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics and integration of such factors in investment decision-making supplementing her top-down asset allocation and bottom-up stock selection approach. She continues to be an advocate for ESG material factor disclosures for managing corporate risk and opportunities and has delivered multiple speaking engagements on the topic.
Ani is a Co-Founder of Onyen Corporation, an ESG Reporting Solution, and is currently focused on business development for the organization. Onyen offers both public and private companies an innovative software solution to efficiently complete their ESG reporting obligations and heighten their ESG profile.
Since 2012, John has partnered in a consulting business based in Vancouver, BC, focused on exploration, mining, innovation and sustainability. He is the Honorary Professor of Responsible Resources at the University Bristol, UK, and previously, was the Wold Professor of Environmental Balance for Human Sustainability at Cornell University. John has over 35 years in the mining industry and related research, and has held diverse leadership roles in many organizations – Teck Resources, Genome BC, the World Economic Forum, Resources for Future Generations 2018, Society of Economic Geologists, Geoscience BC, Canada Mining Innovation Council, and MDRU-UBC. He is a director of KoBold Metals and MineSense, a founder of Regeneration, and is an advisory board member for several exploration, technology, venture capital and research organizations.
