Young Mining Professionals (YMP) is a growing international association of mining professionals with chapters in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal and London (UK) that share the goal of advancing the global profile and future leadership of the mining industry. YMP’s goal is to deliver value to our members by fostering connections and facilitating new business opportunities and educational experiences. YMP delivers these objectives through events that feature industry leaders as keynote speakers and networking with industry peers.

Stephen de Jong
Chairman, Integra Resources Corp.
Stephen de Jong holds 10 years’ experience in the mining industry and is currently the Chairman of Integra Resources, Director of GFG Resources and recently became the CEO of VRify, a Vancouver-based tech start-up which is using technology to reinvent how companies engage with their stakeholders and investors. In 2012, at the age of 28, Stephen was appointed CEO of Integra Gold, a Quebec-focused junior exploration company. Over a five year period, Stephen built and led a team who successfully raised over $150 million in challenging market conditions while growing the business from a $10 million exploration company through to its $590 million sale to Eldorado Gold in July 2017. Stephen's influence and passion for helping shape the next generation of exploration and mining was demonstrated through Integra Gold’s $1 million Gold Rush Challenge held in 2016, and as co-host, alongside Goldcorp of #DisruptMining 2017. Stephen was born and raised in BC, has a commerce degree from Royal Roads University and currently lives in Vancouver with his wife and two young daughters.
Elizabeth McGregor
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Tahoe Resources Inc.
Elizabeth McGregor is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and, prior to her current assignment, served as Tahoe Resources’ VP Treasurer. She directs financial planning, corporate liquidity, financial reporting and risk management. Prior to joining Tahoe Resources, she worked at Goldcorp where she held various financial roles including Director of Project Finance and Cost Control; Administration Manager at the Peñasquito mine; and Director of Risk. Elizabeth began her career at KPMG as Audit Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with honours, from Queen’s University at Kingston.
Kendra Johnston
President and Director, Independence Gold Corp.
Kendra Johnston is the President of Independence Gold and an active volunteer member of the mineral exploration community. Over the past 10 years, she has overseen Independence Gold’s exploration and corporate development programs, built relationships with various stakeholders, and managed the land, environment and health and safety programs. Prior to joining Independence, Kendra was the Investor Relations Manager and Geologist with Atna Resources and a Geological Assistant with the BC Geological Survey. In her spare time, she is the Vice Chair of the Board of AME and Past Chair of AME’s Roundup Conference, a Director of the Yukon Chamber of Mines, a founding Director of Below BC and a Director of Yukon WIM. She is also an avid figure skating enthusiast and an Official with Skate Canada. Kendra is a registered Professional Geologist in British Columbia and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Queen’s University.
Dan O’Flaherty
President and CEO, Maverix Metals Inc.
Dan O’Flaherty co-founded Maverix Metals in 2016. He has over 10 years of investment banking and Executive Officer experience in the mining industry. Dan is currently an Executive and Director of Anthem United, and prior to that was an Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Esperanza Resources. He was a director in the investment banking team of Scotia Capital in Vancouver focused exclusively on the metals and mining sector where he specialized in providing advice to clients on acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and hostile takeover defenses, as well as on equity and debt financings. Dan holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with honours, from the University of British Columbia.
