The CIM Convention 2020 is the ultimate professional networking opportunity. Student registration provides access to the full delegate package: Monday Plenary, Tuesday Keynote Sessions, Technical Program, CIM Opening Ceremony and Reception, CIM Expo and Innovation Stage Presentations, Monday lunch at the Expo, Tuesday CIM Student-Industry Luncheon, Wednesday Komatsu Gala and Closing Ceremony & Reception.

Student-Industry Luncheon

Make that all-important contact with the mining professionals who can help propel your career at the Student-Industry Luncheon. Practice networking skills by engaging with potential employers and mentors in this select and professional networking environment. Cash prizes will be presented to the poster competition winners.

Student Poster Competition

 

Showcase your talents to leading mining industry professionals. Put your best foot forward and submit an abstract online before March 6, 2020, on topics ranging from geology and mining to processing and sustainability. Cash prizes will be presented to 3 winners at Tuesday's Student-Industry Luncheon.

Important dates:
Poster abstract submission deadline: March 6, 2020
Email notification will be sent March 27, 2020

Poster area:
Poster presentations will be held in The EXPO foyer, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Presentation time:
Poster presentations will follow the trade show hours:

    • Sunday, May 3, from 17:00 to 20:00
    • Monday, May 4, from 10:00 to 17:00
    • Tuesday, May 5, from 10:00 to 17:00

It is not compulsory to attend to your poster full time. However, poster presenters are expected to stand in front of their posters during the Monday and Tuesday coffee breaks and luncheons. There will be no audio-visual equipment for the Poster Session.

Guidelines:
All posters must be written in bilingual (French & English) or in English. Poster presentations must include paper title, author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s), abstract, introduction, experimental procedure, results and discussion, conclusion, references, acknowledgments and contact person.

There is no need to upload a PowerPoint presentation of your poster.

Maximum size: width: 1.143 m (45") x height: 1.136 m (44.75")

Please bring Velcro sticky dots to mount your poster (poster boards are Velcro receptive)
